After reading threads on 1] best binders and 2] whether to stand them up or stack them up. I've decided to invest a very small fortune to protect a very large investment.

I'm researching rolling file cabinets and hanging binders of different sizes. Since I don't store most of my sets in binders, I probably would need maybe 20-25 binders. 

Does anybody have any idea what hanging binders are the best? Avery are the cheapest.

My Pros: 1] convenience with moving capability 2] probably much safer than either "stand or stack" methods. 3] easy labeling and order. 4] different colors for different collections. Can you think of any more?

Cons: Not sure I see any, other than the extra cost and a lot of old binders [but they can be recycled]

Any thoughts?

Sheet lifters: Several people have mentioned these, but what are the best ones? I see narrow ones, wide ones, v-shaped ones, and ones that extend beyond the sheet with a finger loop at the end.

I've been using sheet lefters for years, and I really don't see one being better than another. Basically, whatever costs less (unless it's realy cheap and breaks - I had a few do that, but they weren't the right size for the amount of pages) is a fine option.

I am in need of some and so I was researching this last night. I found a place that can do the big "boomerang" shaped ones in quantity. Cost - $1.60 per pair (80 cents each), free shipping once your order goes over $50. This would mean ordering 32 packages (or 64 sheet lifters) for $51.20. Yes, there are cheaper 1" or 2" curved ones on ebay (but for the 8 cents per lifter price difference, I'm not seeing it as being worth it). I don't know if I'm in the market for 64 of them today, but I probably would go through 24-30 of them before I could blink. I don't mind having an inventory of them.

The boomerang one will work in ANY size binder - this is why I think these are worth the extra 8 cents as they will go in a 1/2" binder as easily and effectively as a 5" binder, and all sizes in between.

I have seen UltraPro binders with some sheets included at my Walmart. That’s about the only baseball card related products I can ever find. Most of my binders come from the surplus at my mom’s work. The binders that I know the brand of are all UltraPro or Avery. Those seem to do the trick.

#1- Rolling Hanging Binder Cart .....PERFECT, sheets just hang, no curl, no imprint...NICE !

#2 - Hanging Binders- I still think I might have to be creative here. Large Hanging binders are expensive. 1" are cheap but don't hold a lot. Ordering different colors help with the organizing.

#3 - If you have a family like mine working in the medical field, ALL replaced binders and lifters come my way. Big bucks saver.

Ditto to #3. They don't always have lifters in them, but free is free!

Hanging Binders and Cart

Most of the binders I've used are 2" or 3". I try to use sheet lifters when possible. Need to go through my stuff to see how many lifters  need and to replace ancient supplies. Also "D" ringed binders (or "U" binders) are better than standard "C" or round ringed binders.

This cart and binders are a stroke of genius, thanks Bob, oh wait that's me...lol, ~BOB~

I dig it, Bob.  It's definitely creative and eliminates several binder concerns while adding another, now I have to wonder how strong the holes in the pages are and if it will lead to tearing at some point.
