I guess the price went up forty cents since I shipped mine, but YES. It will hold a whole lot more than the small box does. I shipped 484 cards in 3 different-sized cardboxes. The package weighed 2 lbs. and 12 oz. (I weighed it before I went to the PO). I could have fit even more cards in there too. Two 300-count cardboxes will fit in there easily and I've never been able to fit 300 cards in a small flat rate box. I already had the cardboxes on-hand though, so they cost me nothing extra.

The flat-rate pre-paid padded envelope is $7.20 and the small flat-rate box is $7.15. For a nickel more, I wonder if the padded envelope will hold more cards than the box?

Hey all,
I was trying to research this, not sure if I should have started a new thread or not considering the age. I was trying to figure out how to use the Paypal postage, but for the life of me, I couldn't figure out where to find it. I found the home page that decribes it, but no matter how i tried to create an item and/or attach it to an invoice, I couldn't the the shipping piece to show up.
Does anyone still use this method? If so, what steps do i need to go through?
Sorry for piggy backing this one, but was trying to do my homework before reaching out.
Thanks!
Shaun

paypal.com/shipnow (my preferred) or paypal.com/mos (works fine, but is really set up for doing multiple shipments at once)

I don't think we (in Canada) have the Priority Bubble Mailer and if we do I'm pretty sure it's not a flat rate treatment by Canada Post as spaz's shipment was. Here I'm thinking nearly everything other than "envelope mail" gets the the tape measure treatment and the cost goes up dramatically. In comparison right from the official Canada Post website if I was to say ship a single 330 count box (approx. 4"x6"x3"high) and if it did weigh close to 3 lbs. from New Brunswick to say Illinois would set me back over $25 (Cdn) so spaz's deal is amazing.

I just sent 56 cards to Texas for $5.15 (less than 200g). The trick is keeping it to less than 3/4" thick. I used a 5x7 bubble mailer, two pieces of cereal boxboard and 4 team baggies. No issues with my favourite mail girl.
Costs of postage to the States (and international) is going up though next week. A PWE costs $1.20 till Saturday; Monday it will be $1.27. I don't know what effect it will have on parcels or heavier mail.

As a follow-up to my previous post I can relate to two actual shipments from New Brunswick (Canada) , one to Newfoundland the other to Ontario both some 85 cards and each costing about $4 in a large flat envelope. I believe that's nearly as good as it gets, though "sandyrusty" might be able to provide a better synopsis.

On a rare trip to the PO, my friend clerk informed me after questioning the yellow butterflies....Non-machinable stamps WENT DOWN $.01 cents, while forevers went up to $.55. Good for me hardly use reg. stamps anymore with billpay. He said, "Want to know the other postal changes? Not really !
When using eBay use eBay mailing cost. OR Set my own when listing. BTW, saved money by dropping the store going straight eBay listing.
When using Sportlots use the BOX or rarely their mailing cost. OR Set my own when listing an auction.
Whenever and wherever use PayPal, best rate going.
Other than employing mailing tricks, gotta pay the USPS.

Yeah I had to mail something today and noticed non-machinable was 70 cents now instead of 71. Weird. I also notice they don't always do anything different to the envelope at the counter like stamp it though, but maybe they put it in a separate bin or something.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I just mailed 30 cards in a 4x6 bubble for $3.70. Does that seem standard or is there another (ie cheaper) way? I don't use PayPal, fwiw.
