Couple of options: 1) Get an ad blocker for your browser. This will get rid of ads on all sites. 2) Subscribe to premium for this site. Only $5 and it helps the site.

I use Google Chrome on Windows 10 and use Ad Blocker Plus. Don't see any ads. Costs me nothing.
-------------------------------
I mainly collect Ultimate Collection and 1965-68 Topps & 1968-73 O-Pee-Chee (near mint or better condition - well centred front and back) prefer Habs, but will look at star players Wantlist Bucket

Actually cleaning everything might actually be what's causing it because there is no history at all to base on for which ads would be most aproprite. As others also mentioned, I continue to see ebay ads because that's one of the more common sites I visit.
The more history you build up, the more it would be able to hone in on what's appropriate for you, assuming that's how the ads even work in the first place, which based on the ebay targeting some of us seems to be the case.

Clearly I'm missing all the good stuff. All I've seen in the past week are ads for ebay showing what appears to be packing and/or insilating material.

I also second the earlier suggestions about subscribing/ paying to be a premium member because it does support this site that we all love so much. One question about that though, if you are a premium member, couldn't you then see ALL the cards in the database, which includes several "adult" sets? Or do you have to explicitly turn that feature on?

I was concerned about some of the ads that popped up when I was uploading cards, etc. I did not want my kids to look over my shoulder at the wrong time and see something inappropriate.
My workaround was adjustinng the size of my browser window. I took it off maximize so I could click and drag to resize. By playing with the left-to-right size of the broswer, I got it to where you could see the collection info on the page, but not the ads on the right. Even when the page reloads after clicking an entry, the ad is not visible.
I'm not sure if this helps the original poster, but it may help some users. Worked for me.

I echo what everyone is saying about upgrading. Everything is much faster, no ads and probably most importantly supporting this site. Im glad I did.
