Thanks for the article links, Jim.   Now wondering why this is the first time I've been hit if most started on 01/01/19

So a small follow up tp this one. I just made a purchase and wham, sale tax. First time I had seen that as a CT resident. Did a little digging and here it is from eBay. Several states are rolling out the requirement this year. Iowa happened to be 1 Feb, myself in CT was 1 Apr. A few more states coming up. Buyers beware!

I think Pennsylvania is starting sometime this summer.

July 1st according to the article. Doesn't surprise me CT was one of the first to jump aboard. This state finds a way of getting you for all yourworth one way or another.....

I don't know, but, once again Texas leads the way - we're not on either taxing list!

Internet sales tax is collected based on the buyer's (you) location (State of Residency), not the seller's location.

When I retired from the Marines it was actually our (now ex-wife's and I) choice location even though we had never been there. Really San Diego was, but $$$$$. Before we got to SA we crashed at my uncle's place for a bit and ended up just staying in the Tampa area. No one has a desire to stay up here so back south before too long. You visit NJ enough, you know how the northeast can be...
