“ Funny coincidence, the comments for this card opened for comments on July 3rd, the same postmark date on the back of this postcard. ” -mrackar

“ Even though some members can't get beyond the "trading card" name of the site, cataloging items like this one are of great value to some collectors. In the past, there MIGHT be a listing for a set like this in one of the printed almanacs, but without the ability to see a picture of the actual card, many questions would remain unanswered. It's not tough to find a checklist of 1988 Topps baseball. This site is the "go-to" place for detectives trying to identify items like this. And there is tremendous value in that. Also, RIP Hobie. (He passed away earlier this year.) ” -Dave Sosidka

“ "Redlegs" -- they could not be "Reds" because that implied communism. Love the card. ” -cjjt

Missed seeing this one. For some reason at work last Monday I couldn't connect to the database.Shame because I really like this postcard. It is fun to see pre-zip codes addresses and phone numbers with the letters in the numbers as extentions.

It's cool, but I didn't realise postcards were trading cards, or that we could upload ones which were 'used'

"I didn't realise postcards were trading cards"

Just like with any "other collectible" that is not a trading card, there are rules in place to determine the eligibility of these items.

"I didn't realise ... that we could upload ones which were 'used'"

The images of them should be clean, without writing, and when images are uploaded with such alterations, they will be (and in this case they all are for this set) tagged for easy replacement with scans of clean cards. In the meantime, it is better to have good scans of "used" cards than no scans at all.

I'm going to doubt many "clean" cards exist.  These cards were made to be signed and mailed to fans back in the day.
