I still like the 2008 Topps design. I like the 2007 black-bordered design too and this was completely different from that one. This might have been the last time that one year REALLY stood out from the previous one AND the next one. Although 2014 and 2015 were really different from each other, everything between 2009-2014 and after 2015 is very similar to each other. I think the 2008 design stood out even more in NFL than it did in MLB. It's still a layout that I like a lot after a dozen years! This specific card-scan could use some better cropping though.

I go with "Clown Cards," but I appreciate the other choices I've learned here. But we tease because we love....

Also, no player position on the front. I don't ask for much. But I require the team name, player name, and player position on the front.

I love the 2008 design. And always happy to see a former Brewer make random card of the day.

I got into baseball cards towards the end of the 2007's season. So in a sense, this was the first set I collected starting with series 1 and through series 2. I got way more series 2 packs because they had the Toppstown code cards inside (remember those days?) -- those were like candy for my 8-9 year old self. I remember sitting down iny room and constantly shuffling through the cards and sorting in every which way imaginable, documenting which cards I had and didn't in my old beckett price guide book by coloring in the little squares. Good times.

As for the design itself, this was the best of the 2000s. Topps had a stretch from around 2004-2013 where they spit out banger after banger design. I at least like every single design Topps put out in that time frame. 2008 is my favorite of the bunch -- it was very creative, fun, and my GOSH just look at some of the parallel cards from this set. They look absolutely stunning

I'm probably in the minority who don't like the design of these cards with the big white border and 'bubble' names at the top.

This was the first ever factory set I bought as a kid. 2008 Topps will always hold a special place in my heart. Between birthday gifts and other presents. I think I got this set 4-5 times from other people.
