Buy/Sell/Trade Forum

I stumbled upon the tradingcarddb website while searching for about 270 football cards (1990-1991) to complete my collection 840. I'm a junkie for the 1991 Nintendo game "Tecmo Super Bowl".

Therefore, I'm not looking for a particular brand of card, but do want the player in uniform for the particular team this player was a member.

For example, I need a 1991 Steve Young and the 1991 Bowman #485 Steve Young would work just fine., 1991 Pro Set #296 Steve Young  would do also.  Most of my needs are the unknowns, such as Mike Barber, 1992 Topps #422 Mike Barber.  

My question to the forum, is as a new collector, what should I be doing to acquire these cards?  While keeping my costs + shipping down.  Should I be listing my "WANTLIST" and hope members here reply?  Should I be going to COMC and/or Amazon and buy them up?

Welcome to the site! One approach would be to enter all your wants, then you can look at what members may be looking to sell or trade those cards. If there is a member that has a couple cards. You can actually match your wantlist to their for sale list to see how much you could get from them. You can then contact them to discuss a buy or trade. I am sure others will chine in with additional thoughts, it is a great community here...

Now, on to your question.

If you can only buy (not trade), I wouldn't bother buying them on other sites just yet. Post what you are looking for on here and see how many responses you get. Many collectors may just send you what they have w/out asking for anything in return. If you are on other card sites, the same is probably true there. Collectors love to help others accomplish a goal no matter how experienced either is at collecting. I'd be happy to look at what you need and send some cards your way.

If you want to buy from COMC.com., do it directly, not through Amazon.  Via Amazon, you pay more for the card and the seller gets less because Amazon gets their chunk.  COMC has that partnership to offer sellers more exposure, and that's definitely not a bad thing, but it comes with a cost.

When trying to acquire cards, I try here first....Im into trading, not selling.....Any chance I get to move cards I don't want for cards I do.......... Im in.....

I'll try to get my wantlist posted as well as attempt to get my sell/trade cards registered.

Tecmo Super Bowl.  My brother and I would play the entire season (all games for all teams).  And we didn't alter the built in playbooks.  So good luck winning with the Patriots, Colts, or Cardinals.  And there was no stopping Bo Jackson, Marion Butts, or Christian Okoye!

I ran Christian Okoye for 440 yards in the opening week against the Falcons. Needless to say he was injured by week 3.

I have a ton of fleer ultra 1991 cards as well as many duplicates if you would like to make deal. Would trade for Chargers and Cardinals cards
