Ask the risk of sounding foolish, I am new to this. Two collectors have said something about a PWE trade. Can someone enlighten me as to what this is? Thanks

PWE stands for Plain White Envelope - pretty self-explanatory when you understand the acronym. Many members here prefer to deal with PWEs when it's only for a few cards, in order to save on postage that you'd have to spend to use a bubble mailer.
For what it's worth, I've heard of bubble mailers abbreviated as "BMWT", standing for Bubble Mailer With Tracking.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

Plain White Envelope or anything that is not a padded envelope or box.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

@kevaustin They are in the plain white envelop, but protected with a top loader hard card sleeve or some sort of cardboard protection. The last part is hard to explain, but think of a three row sheet from a binder page. Those three cards have a cardboard cover (some people make them out of cereal boxes) They are taped around the sides (always use blue painters tape as it doesnt damage the card holders and is easy to remove).
The card board needs to be just a tiny bit wider than the three sleeve binder page... and small enough to fit in the envelop.
I have started buying mailable thank you card notes from either walmart or target. Usually a good number a 1-3 dollars. They are fairly thick and do a good job at proecting smaller trades.

There's a thread on here somwhere on how to ship PWE. I believe a member who is a USPS employee started it. Basically, you don't HAVE to use the cardboard but if you don't, put the cards in a penny sleeve and make sure it won't get crunched.

I think the collector/trader Mom works for USPS for decades

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

I will add that I have made many trades and most have been PWE. I prefer to usually trade about 18 cards where I can put two cards in each 9 pocket section. No need to add cardboard but make sure the open edges are folded in. You can ship 18 cards for 70 cents. Note that most of my trades are commons and minor stars.
