I'm working on these sets (wantlists linked below) not just because 1979 Topps are the first hockey cards I bought in packs, or because the OPC checklist is strong, or because the photography is mostly good. I love the design!
The 2008-09 OPC set has a retro subset that borrows this design, so I am collecting it too...
2001-02 Topps OPC Archives has some as well...
Question: Are there any other sets or subsets, hockey or otherwise, that use this design? I want them!
Thanks, David

I know Upper Deck used the design sometime in the late 2000s for baseball. I just can't remember the year or name of the set.

Upper Deck had a 1969 OPC insert set in 2008 baseball, then released an OPC set in 2009.

Thanks for those. Any others that use the actual 1979-80 design?

I just bought the latest Beckett Hockey annual price guide and read it, page by page, looking for neat subsets to collect..Most have a description of the card designs if they are really unique..
And the reading part only took a day or two..Boring Yes, but found some neat subsets..
