I always thought Lynn Dickey was a decent quarterback but didn't have alot of time to throw the ball and I'm sure was very sore on most Monday mornings.

Very talented, but everyone has trouble passing when their back's on the ground. I stick to my answer, Lynn Dickey led the Pack in sacks.

My understanding is that sacks weren't an OFFICIAL stat by the league, but were kept by teams.

I am closing this thread at around noon today so if you haven't guessed yet get your answer in soon. I have actually decided I will include all participants in this thread in the drawing unless you specifically said you didn't want the card.
It's been an interesting thread. I'm glad to hear of the respect for Lynn Dickey as he was the first good QB Green Bay had when I started watching football (sorry David Whitehurst, I do still collect your cards too). It also turned into a good history lesson as yes I was looking for Mike Butler who showed up on the team card as the leader with 10 sacks. Sportzcommish is correct in that the NFL didn't start compiling sacks until 1982.
Stay tuned for the next drawing. I have decided it will be hangman. I just need to select a card to award as the prize.

In 1980 the Packers allowed 43 sacks with a sack % of 7.8%. The league average was 7.0% so the Packers were below average. However, the Chiefs gave up 57 sacks with a sack % of 12.4%. Poor Steve Fuller who was sacked 49 of those times with a personal sack % of 13.3%.
Sorry, I enjoy looking into old statistics.
