Year: 1990

Set: Topps Big (Rate)

Card: #123 Mel Hall

“ Never been a fan of the 1980s/90s "bigs" It is odd because I was a big fan of the "Supers" and "Giants" of the 1960s and 70s. ” -captkirk42

“ Hopefully still in jail. ” -volbox

“ Nothing screams early 90s more than this design. The colours, the wavy design, makes me want to go disc some MC Hammer and C+C Music Factory. ” -rmpaq5

“ These over-sized cards are fun but i can't seem to get any in mint condition unless i open boxes of them myself. ” -baseballcardstoreca

“ Great looking card but wish it wasn't big. ” -davidhandberry

“ Of all the Topps Big, I like the '88 best. ” -NJDevils

“ These card are great! ...is what I'd say if they were standard-sized trading cards that I could put in 9-pocket pages with the rest of my cars. I'll still collect them but they never see the light of day. ” -mkaz80

“ I once bought a hockey card on ebay and received two random cards from this set along with the hockey card. Was very confused and had no idea what to do with them, weird unexpected bonus. ” -jfalvo316

“ Mel Hall had some pretty decent years back in the 80's. I remember his Yankee tenure. This set I forgot about until this card. Never was a fan of the Big sets, the designs were ok, the size killed me. ” -muskie027

“ so, a kind of decent looking card from 90's by topps ” -parsley24

That card is so 90's. As for Mel Hall, I hope he rots.

This is the absolute worst Topps Big design! There isn't really anything I like about this card (and therefore the set). So glad those are gone.

Not sure how I didn't know about Mel Hall's disgusting act, corresponding arrest and now his time in jail.  Obviously, just lost all respect for him.  Absolutely disgusting and just terrible.

The 8-pocket pages work perfect just like for the sets from1952 to 1956. I don't mind these sets (1988-1990); fairly easy to put together and something different.
