“ I loved this set when it came out. I remember thinking Topps had something really nice looking after the 1990 set, which I remember not loving back in 1990. Although it is not iconic, I still really like this set. ” -muskie027

“ He was a Rangers fan favorite for years. Typical infielder for his era...poor hitter but a good fielder. Even better mullet. His son is a QB for the University of Texas. ” -DocOso

“ "You're making how many different printing variations of this card?!?!" ” -switzr1

“ Just another Manic Monday and another standard baseball card. This time 1991 Topps 40th Anniversary Edition Baseball. We have Rangers Steve Buechele sporting a customized crutch made from authentic bats. ” -captkirk42

“ Not a bad set , have mine almost completed. ” -uncaian

“ Scan by OCHawkeye. ” -Kirbythedodger

“ Not much to say here. Hairdo of the 90s. ” -Duke

“ Classic Junk Era. ” -kirkscards

Actually have this card "in the house" which doesn't reallly happen all that often with the RCOTD selection. As noted nothing too special considering the "40th" though not as if it's the "silver or golden "anniversary .

As a junk wax addict, the ‘91 set is only second to the ‘87 set for me. Love the simplicity of the team name and player name at the bottom, and the iconic 40th anniversary logo upper left. I think it’s also the first Topps set to come out with planned variations with the darker logo on the back. Oh, how I miss the days where you could chase all of the set variations without having to sell a kidney.

Building up baseball sets slowly but, well, slowly.

Residence in New England has no bearing on my favorite teams, players, or how I pronounce "card."

Forgave my dad for putting his '52 Mantle in his bike spokes, but not my brother for plastering his room with my Star Wars stickers.

I like the 1991 Topps design. I always have since the first time I saw it in 1992-93 Topps Archives. Although Topps didn't have an NBA license that year, I am finally able to really collect it since it was used in the NHL...and I get to collect it twice due to the O-Pee-Chee release. It would have been so much nicer without the position lettering on the front, but it's really the only detraction from that design in my opinion.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.

I was definitely a big fan of this set, even with all the printing issues it seemed to have. It was the prime of my collecting years.

Liked this set. It was cool as a kid to see some of the alternate "jersey" logos in script form, like what Upper Deck copied in 1992. The A*B* fiasco is a pain for he fastidious organizers among us.
