“ There are always seems to be a lot of confusion around the sets commonly known as "picture packs." There are two types of picture packs done by Jay Publishing- the second of which you see here. The font is more like Times New Roman- Jay did these from 1962-1965. The others have a more rounded font, like Arial, and were done from around 1956-61. Some of the sets are plentiful- especially the 1961 sets. A dealer uncovered a hoard of unopened sets a few years ago, and they can be had for less than $10 a piece on eBay. ” -Dave Sosidka

“ Topps must have known a storm was a brewin' with the inclusion of a company logo on the front of the card. Shortly thereafter, the doors were opened for competition, thanks to a lawsuit by Fleer. Some might call the 1979 Topps design boring, but I kinda like it- totally uncluttered and with sufficient room for the photo. ” -Dave Sosidka

“ Have you tried completing this set? The only thing more difficult would be choosing the right numbers for the Mega Millions lottery. I am 16 cards short, after buying 2 or 3 boxes of it in 2002.
