Notes: Distributed as Series One (#1-500) and Series Two (#521-1020). #501-520 were distributed via redemption exchange. A variation of #501 Daisuke Matsuzaka (wearing a suit) was inserted in 2007 Upper Deck... more

  • At 1,020 cards, the largest regular (hobby) Upper Deck baseball set
  • The Rookie Exchange card randomly inserted in Series One packs (and later the Series One & Two Combo packs) was originally only good for one card from the #501-520 range, but after complaints from collectors, it was expanded to include all twenty cards. Redemption cards had to be sent in and received by February 27, 2010.
  • A variation of the #501 Daisuke Matsuzaka rookie card where he's wearing a suit at a press conference was randomly inserted into packs of 2007 Upper Deck Spectrum.
  • The rookie cards of #502 Kei Igawa and #503 Akinori Iwamura were also randomly inserted into packs of 2007 Upper Deck Spectrum, but unlike the #501 Daisuke Matsuzaka card, there are no differences.

I am interested in this set. Mainly because it is so large. Has anyone seen them up close? Are they paper thin cheap cards or are they typical Upper Deck style cards?
