Trivia

  • While Topps used a wide range of former stars in its celebratory insert sets, they could not use Mickey Mantle, arguably its most popular subject, due to his estate's deal with Upper Deck.
  • The same photo was used on cards #558 (Brian Moehler) and #595 (Dave Mlicki).

At least the brick of cards I have when opened the box was split into two bricks, the card on top was actually salvageable. That was 1 out of 700+. I paid $100 for the bricks off eBay. I’m an idiot. So was the guy who decided to go with the gloss.

This is a pretty nice set but the quality of the cards themselves is poor. What an annoyance. How many of us have cards where the images are compromised due the card being stuck to another? Plus the corners ding way too easily.

Factory Set is now a large block of card board. All the cards are stuck together forming a bricklike set. Pitiful
