- Marquette was the Warriors for most team sports from 1954 to 1994, then they changed to Golden Eagles. The football team was the Golden Avalanche, and other teams sometimes used The Blue and Gold or Hilltoppers. The team was called simply The Gold in 2004, before returning to Golden Eagles in 2005.
- Of the 11 scholarship players who had cards in the 1982-83 Lite Beer Marquette Warriors series, just two were from Wisconsin, Don Smolinski of Menasha and Terrell Schlundt of Antigo.
