The Thrashers marked the NHL’s return to Atlanta and it went about as well as you would expect. They finished 14-57-7-4 and hold the record for least amount of points in a season since the NHL started the three points system with 39.

Been a while since I did one of these. Lee Stempniak is second all time for most teams played for (Behind Mike Sillinger who I already did a list for) with ten.

As I type this, the Lightning have clinched the President's Trophy and currently have the best record in the league. However, from 1997-2002, they were routinely one of the worst teams in the league. The worst was the 1997-98 team which finished 17-55-10

The Penguins last season before the Sidney Crosby era began saw them go 23-47-8-4 including an 18 game losing streak.

The Sharks finished 11-71-2 in their second season. Their 71 losses are the most in NHL history.

Easily the worst team of the 2010's. The Astros finished 51-111 (The same record as the 2004 Diamondbacks). It's hard to believe that 4 years later, they would be the World Series champions.
Update: They no longer own the record for worst team of the 2010’s as the 2018 Orioles have broken that record.

The players named in the Mitchell Report

As a Yankees fan, the late 80's early 90's teams were painful to watch. And this year was no exception. The Yankees finished 67-95 for their first last place finish in 24 years.

The 2004 Diamondbacks were an absolute train wreck finishing 51-111. The only highlight of the season was Randy Johnson (In his last year with the Diamondbacks) pitching a perfect game against the Braves.

A year after winning the World Series, the Marlins had a fire sale of their best players (Something they would do again after winning the 2003 World Series). This resulted in a 54-108 season.

One of the worst teams in recent memory. The 2003 Tigers finished 43-119 for the third worst record in MLB history behind the 1899 Cleveland Spiders and the 1962 New York Mets.

Probably the worst season in Hawks history, they finished 13-69.

Roberto Kelly played from 1987-2000. He later became a coach for the Giants where he would win 3 World Series rings with them

At one point in time, Jose Canseco was probably one of the best baseball players in the world. However, as we now know, he was on steroids for a majority of his career. Nowadays, you probably know him for being arrested numerous times and for being a d-list celebrity

Ruben Sierra had a very lengthy career and he was a decent enough player. However, after he left the A's, he became a journeyman.

Matt Stairs had a pretty decent career holding the MLB record for most pinch-hit home runs and winning a World Series Ring with the Phillies in 2008 (Where he hit a memorable pinch-hit home run in game 4 of the NLCS). He also at one point held the record for most teams played for before being past by Octavio Dotel.
