Montreal-based, and then Culinar-owned, Stuart Bakery were producing a very popular line of packaged snack cakes, sold in boxes of usually 6 or more. For the 1983, Stuart issued cards featuring the players and coaches of the Montreal Expos. The cards were inserted in specially-marked boxes of the Stuart snack cake line. Stuart issued another Expos set for the 1984 and a stars of the MLB in 1987, while sister-company, Vachon, issued a set of Canadian-based NHL (hockey) teams for the 1983-84 season. |
