2002 NFL Showdown 2003
Trivia |
- As is done with sports video games, this card set is titled "NFL Showdown 2003", even though the set was released in 2002.
- Barcodes on cards can be scanned with scanner called the Playgrid, which was included in the starter set, which determines results of plays. Starter set also featured a playmat with football field and down/ball markers.
- First NFL Showdown edition to feature play results in one-yard increments. Cards from previous expansions (which only used five-yard increments) that are scanned with the improved Playgrid will also have results in one-yard increments, even if only older cards are scanned.
- Team-building rules, according to the rulebook:
Teams need at least 1 QB and 2 of all other positions, no duplicate players. Kickers/Punters are optional. Total team player value cannot exceed 5,000 points. Backup players can be added at one-fifth of their total value. - #253 Hollis Thomas - Error- Player pictured is Tru Thomas, #72. This is compounded by the fact that Donovan McNabb is clearly in the background and Hollis Thomas is a defensive player
