1966 Topps
Trivia |
- 1st set to include Atlanta Braves cards.
- Wax packs were $0.05 for 5 cards.
- Features the rookie cards for Hall of Famers Jim Palmer, Don Sutton, and Fergie Jenkins.
Features the final cards for Hall of Famers Sandy Koufax and Robin Robert. - Originally, card #43 Don Landrum, showed Landrum's fly button open and visible. A "corrected" version removed the button altogether, and a second corrected version finally corrected the issue.
- Card #447 carries Dick Ellsworth's name, but mistakenly shows former teammate Ken Hubbs who was killed in a plane crash in February 1964.
- Topps did not issue a team card for the Houston Astros, possibly because of a legal dispute over the name, "Astros."
- Card #586 Claude Raymond also shows a player with his fly open. No cards were issued as a "correction". His card in 1967 also has a fly open. No correction card was made for that one either.
- 22 Braves players pictured with no hat. Only one pictured with a batting helmet.
