  • Features the rookie cards of Baseball Hall of Famers Phil Niekro and Tony Larussa.

    Features a special "In Memoriam" card (#550) for Ken Hubbs, former Cubs player who tragically died in a plane crash in 1964.

    Features the first individual player cards for Pete Rose and Willie Stargell.
  • Card backs contained a baseball quiz which required the rubbing of a white panel to reveal the answer.
  • #7 1963 National League Batting Leaders (Tommy Davis / Bob Clemente / Dick Groat / Hank Aaron) - Roberto Clemente's name is listed as "Bob" on the card. According to the Baseball Hall of Fame, a number of writers and broadcasters insisted on calling Clemente "Bob" or "Bobby," instead of his given name of Roberto in an effort to Americanize him. This practice continued through the 1969 Topps set. Clemente did not like this practice and felt it was disrespectful to his heritage.
