- Wave of the Future insert set is the first basketball cards ever to have a liquid as part of the card. The cards are a soft, rubbery plastic that you can squeeze to make the liquid move the enclosed sparkles around. Some of them have dried up now, 15 years after release.
- The Row 0 cards of the first 20 players to appear in the set are serial numbered to 250 copies. Row 0 cards of players 21-40 are serial numbered to 500 copies. Row 0 cards of players 41-60 are serial numbered to 1000 copies and finally, Row 0 cards of players 61-80 are serial numbered to 2000 copies. Row 1, Row 2 and Row 3 base cards are not serial numbered.
