- Confusion exists regarding the 1923-24 and 1924-25 Crescent Selkirks. Most "guides" list them incorrectly. Confirming the correct year of issue is aided by the fact that legendary goaltender Charlie Gardiner appears in one of the two sets but did not play for the Selkirk Fishermen until 1924-25, making it impossible for him to be included in the 1923-24 card set, as documented in the "guides". Furthermore, the card design of the "incorrectly identified" 1923-24 Selkirks set is exactly the same as the 1924-25 Crescent Falcon-Tigers.
