This set can be distinguished from the H804-8B and H804-8C sets as follows: 1) different card titles; 2) tan vs. yellow or brown background color for the advertising panel at the bottom of the card; and 3) different design format of the ad panel. The specific year these cards were initially distributed to the public is unknown; experts believe most of these types of baseball-related "trade cards" were distributed in the 1880s and early 1890s.
