by chvlDm - 35 cards (Last updated on Feb 28, 2024)

1. 1989 Topps #10 Andre Dawson

Blue Hawk! Blue sky, helmet, jersey, nameplate, and border highlight.

2. 1989 Topps #16 Ron Robinson

So much red and R's...
Ron Robinson is a red-headed Red.

3. 1989 Topps #19 Greg Gagne

44% of letters in his name are G's and I believe he prefers the pronunciation with the last G a hard G, which is more fun to say.

4. 1989 Topps #26 Dale Mohorcic

Field looks too dark to be playing but you can still see players out there.

5. 1989 Topps #30 Doc Gooden

Topps got into nicknames for '89.
They got Doc and Rock but missed Oil Can

6. 1989 Topps #50 George Bell

Being a baseball bat is full time work. When not smashing baseballs you help support the weight of sluggers while they study pitchers.

7. 1989 Topps #65 Rick Reuschel

Workhorse warming up with some Candlestick infrastructure on display. Post looks well padded but I wouldn't want to accidentally run into that door down there on the bottom right.

Italic stats: '88 leader in GS

8. 1989 Topps #71 Mike Boddicker

Stadium shot, bright green grass, & Coke.
Very solid pitcher.

9. 1989 Topps #89 Dave LaPoint

The camera focus on the stands is on "Point".
Split league '88 stats.

10. 1989 Topps #105 Ron Darling

Ron Darling and Jose DeLeon just a card apart and their poses are so similar even in the bend of the wrist.
