  Topps Vault File Copy

Sold by Topps in the early 2000s via their Topps Vault eBay account (usually with an opening bid of $9.95), these are BVG-encapsulated uncirculated copies of 1957 baseball cards that came from Topps' company archive. In Topps' early years, the staff would paste two copies of each card into a book so that both the front and back of each card would be viewable, but this practice resulted in stains on the cards when they were finally removed. Other than the paste stains, the cards are identical to the standard cards; however, the slab labels include a unique certification number and a BVG grade of "Authentic." Each slab notes that the card is either "1/2" or "2/2" depending on whether the it was the "Stain Back" or "Stain Front" copy. A generic certificate of authenticity accompanied each card. This checklist is a work in progress. Use the inaccuracy link to report missing cards.
