I think hockey would be the best. Minor leagues are already in place. Separate US and Canadian teams. And, make the Stanley Cup like the UEFA Champion's League in soccer. You would have a team from each country in the finals every year. Can you imagine the TV ratings on that series. It would only grow as years go by.

Oh I love the promotion/demotion system used everywhere in the world except this continent, and not just for soccer. Pretty much every European League of every sport works that way. I actually think it could solve the whole College Football Playoff thing. Winner of conference goes to playoff. Each conference has a smaller conference attached to it, so lets say the BIg 10 and the MAC were paired. You come in the bottom 2 in the Big 10 you go to the MAC, you come in the top two in the MAC up to the Big 10.Little guy right now can work way up
Don't think it coud happen? Look at Wigan recently, or Huddersfield currently in the EPL. A few years before making it to the top league they were fielding teams of guys probably playing for a Ham Sandwich.

Yes, that is correct. It's the same team, with the same owner, with no gap between leaving one league and joining the other. There are other MLS teams which started in other leagues, and paid the franchise fee to join MLS. As soccer fans all know, soccer teams in all countries change leagues regularly. In the rest of the world they earn promotion or relegation with wins or losses. In the American/Canadian leagues, you buy your way up. Somebody has to put food on Garber's table. The gap between the NASL Sounders and the USL Sounders exists because the old NASL folded. Separating them seems absurd to me. I won't bore you all with my thoughts on the closed league system, but I think change will be here very soon. First step would be removing Sunil "I take full responsibility for the U.S. missing the 2018 World Cup after losing to Trinidad & Tobago, but I'm not resigning" Gulati.

I don't follow MLS that closely, but I thought the USL Sounders just moved up to the MLS. If the case same team new league? An example the AFL cards for the AFL teams still connect to the current NFL teams...right??? Maybe??? Head hurts now.
