There are a few discussions I want to bring up in this thread, because it is certain that something needs to be done and perhaps there already is a rule about it but I do not know.
Teams (TIDs) that represent different teams. I know that in the db there are some instances where different teams have different TIDs, but then there are situations where the different teams do not. For example, there are two Miami Marlins teams, one is for the team that existed in the International and Florida State Leagues and became the Miami Miracle:

And the other is the team that formerly was the Florida Marlins.

The dividing issue here appears to be MLB (681) vs Minor League (883).
In Football, there is only 1 Cleveland Browns and not 2 different: NFL and NFL (former)
For hockey, there is only 1 Winnipeg Jets (NHL) and the other teams are missing: Winnipeg Jets (NHL former, became Phoenix/Arizona Coyotes), Winnipeg Jets (WHA, same franchise as NHL former) and Winnipeg Jets (WHL, became Clubs Monarchs, Calgary Wranglers, Lethbridge Hurricanes). Now in the WHL section there is a Winnipeg Monarchs, which is a team that did exist in the WHL but all of the cards attributed to this TID are in fact for the Winnipeg Monarchs of the MJHL.

For baseball, the Los Angeles Angels has 2 instances 1 in MLB and one in Minor Leagues (the PCL team). There is no MLB former, although there is the Anaheim Angels and California Angels.
Now the obvious second issue here is that the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim team is missing. It is clearly defined that the name change (albeit not widely known at the time) was done after the 2015 season so that 2016 to present they are just the Los Angeles Angels again. In regards to cards, this would infer that all Angels cards from 2016 onward are the LA Angels, and all cards from 2005-2015 are the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. And that is considering that the jerseys did not change, and you wouldn't know that in 2004 the team was Anaheim Angels and in 2005 they were Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. And between 2015 and 2016 the jerseys did not change, and the cards just used a logo as well.
I know it came up recently, but adding into the other team related issues, wondering why teams are the way they are and not separated properly, why some different instances of teams exist while others are just merged into one offering.
