This conversation is driving me to drink. Somebody pour me an Anheuser-Busch Budweiser!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Oh, I'm just joking around ranford. Your opinion is just as important as mine on this site, so I was just giving my two cents and having some fun.

My first pack of 'Ultra' was a pack of 1992 MLB cards ('91 was rare to see here in NC then). I was 14 then and I have just called them Ultra for the last 23 years. I also only called Stadium Club cards by that name. They were never "Topps Stadium Club", just like I never said "Topps" before Finest. As the Admin said earlier, some brands just stand out without needing a manufacturer name in front. As for the reply about Gypsy Queen and A&G, those were around long before Topps started making the recent releases. The new-era releases should have the Topps designation in front of them. To me, those fall in line with T-205/T-206 releases. If they are the recent versions that Topps made, they need the word Topps in front of the title. Topps is truly my worst enemy in the hobby! They constantly confuse the unknowing and harass the knowledgable!!! How many versions of the same card do I need from any era/year/set/etc. They are ridiculous. I already have about a dozen versions of the Ozzie Smith MLB RC card and none of them are worth anything to me, except the original one.

NO PWE's EVER!!! PLZ PM me 1st before sending any offer. ONLY selling cards as of March 2024. No trades or purchases right now. _______________________________________________________________________ Largest total PC card collections by Team, then Athlete (as of 3/22/24): STL Cardinals (MLB) - 8810; Carolina Panthers - 2888; GB Packers - 1790+ cards Mark Martin (NASCAR) - 2038 cards; Jimmie Johnson (NASCAR) - 1875 cards; Jeff Gordon (NASCAR) - 1594; Ricky Rudd (NASCAR) - 839; Ozzie Smith (MLB) - 707

I personaly never liked that some sets are listed only as "Ultra", "Stadium Club", "Finest", "Triple Play", "Select" or "SP". I would rather have the sets defined by Co name, then brand, then insert set (if so). Not only because I have my collection that way, it would make it easier to find cards on the database as you could narrow the search more quickly. Having said that, I agree with spaz in the quote below. The work to change everything wold be time consuming. I have gotten used to it though I still get frustrated in searches once in a while.
spazmatastic wrote: The main reason I would leave like it is would be to save confusion or a lot of work. If someone changes one to add Fleer to the title, then every set in every sport (and non-sport releases) from 1991 to present would need to be changed too. I'm sure that is more than 100 different sets. JMO.

I will entertain trades but please don't offer me a 1993 Dave Stieb for a Nolan Ryan rookie. I prefer player for player (at least similar era and similar stardom).
