2013 Topps Baseball Forum

I noticed this card (https://www.tcdb.com/ViewCard.cfm/sid/72762/cid/23527441/2013-Topps-214-Curtis-Granderson) was recently added to the 2013 Topps set.  I updated the variation to note that it was not a short print, but rather a different image that was found in factory sets.  There are a handful of cards that are similar to this with a slightly different image from the packed out cards to the factory sets.  I counted a total of 5, including the Granderson, in my collection.  Is this something we typically add to the site?  I have not tried in the past to get them added, but am more than happy to provide the information to the site if this is something that is tracked.

...and before someone asks, this is NOT the five card rookie variation set that comes sealed inside of the factory set.  This is the base card has nearly the same image between the packs and the factory sets, but either something is removed (ie a person standing in the background) or the cropping has changed.

Of course they'd be added. And now I have work to do after they are added to figure out what I have... A recent example of this sort being added is the '22 Topps set where the RC logo on the wax issued cards were different that the FS one. And I know you helped put that list together. 

Yes, they should be added. I think I was the one who added the Granderson "SP" as I didn't realize it was a FS version.

I added that one within the past 10 days or so, trying to clear out some older IRs. Anything exclusive to a factory set should be under Inserts/Related as we've done with the football side of things.

Then there are a bunch of sets that need to be fixed. Look at 22 Topps referenced. We would have to completely rearrange how that set is listed. Or all those Donruss sets...

I think you meant issued in FS by meaning the Rookie Variation, All-Star, Rookie Chromes and all that jazz.

OK.  Let me know which way to go and I will add the IRs for the cards and get the scans ready.

Thety should be handled the same way you fixed the 2013 Topps FS cards.

Yup, "Factory Set Bonus: ____", then identify if it's a rookie variation, a regional team sample, something else....

These aren't a Factory Set Bonus.  The "Bonus" implies extra cards. These are part of the set.  In other words, every single Granderson card that was in the factory sets (and there is only one in each set) was the close up image linked above.  One version is only available in Factory Sets, the other version is only available in packs.  There is no overlap.  Just like every single Dee Gordon card that was found in the factory set for some reason airbrushed out the player behind him.  The only one that is questionable to me in the way that the site lists things would be the Ryan Ludwick card.  For some reason during the foiling process of the Factory Sets, the 'D' in Ludwick is completely filled in.  Hard to explain, will be easier once it is seen.  I added it to the IR.  Once folks see it, we can make a determination if it is a "foiling error" (which is typically not allowed) or something different.  That one card was actually why I never entered the others as missing.

I'll scan these tomorrow.  Won't have access today.
