Greetings:
Totally baffled by the 1969 and 1970 Stamps and seeking guidance. To qualify I only collect St Louis Cardinals so not as familair with the other teams.
Any way my question. I have 3 Gibson stamps with identical "front's" but with three similiar but different backs:
The type opf line listed below are towards the top and right inderneath the words "Apply glue or paste here only"
1. "Dotted Line" and paper appears a bit off-white
2. "Solid Line" and paper is more white than one I listed above.
3. "Long dashed" line
In researching the most logical info seemed to come from an article on the net54baseball.com website. 1969 MLB Stamps
A simple recap of the thread indicates for the 1969 and 1970 MLB Stamps.......
1. 216 stamps issued in 1969. Both a dotted line version and later a solid line version.
2. In 1970, all 216 dotted line versions were re-issued along with 75 new stamps. With the 75 new stamps - the hats were not airbrushed so you could see the team logo and they had a long-dashed line..
3. Additionally there was a sheet of 12 "all-stars" that were issued. these 12 players stamps were identical to the 1969-70 versions (airbrushed hats so you cannit see the logo) exceopt they have a long dash line on the reverse. This set of 12 additonally was theonly set that was perforated.
Can anyone shed some light on this???
I dont have the 1969 stamp booklet or 1970 stamp booklet if there were any issued. I do hve the St Louis Cardinals 1971 (Dell) along with the stamps.
Thank you in advance!
Patrick

Please Please Please read my profile before making a trade proposal. My "wants" for my Cardinals collection is accurate from 1900 - 2008. I still have about 12,000Plus Cardinals cards from 2009-present to sort through and enter. Please do not offer any Cardinals cards from 2008-present unless you contact me first as there is a chance I already have it amongst the multitude to still go through.
I still have about 30K Cardinals duplicates that are not yet entered in the database as FS/FT.
