This 1992 Traks Richard Petty prototype card is listed twice:
https://www.tcdb.com/ViewCard.cfm/sid/120852/cid/8221667
https://www.tcdb.com/ViewCard.cfm/sid/54511/cid/4851000
The question is, which place is correct? The design definitely matches the Team Set card #200 (although it seems odd that this card doesn't have the "Team Set" snipe that the other 199 cards in the set have). I don't know if these prototypes were pack inserted at all, or if they were just distributed to dealers. It does seem to fit well with the rest of the prototypes under the main set.

This really is a confusing one. I'm not sure of the answer. The design, color and picture definitely matches the Team Set (except for missing the Team Set marker). It does not match the regular Traks set at all b/c of the black border instead of the white border of regular Traks cards and the photo. I also don't know anything about how the Prototypes were released in 1992. There were also PROTO's of Traks Racing Machines, but this card certainly doesn't belong there. Maybe Billy has some extra info, or HutNut. Either way, both scans can't belong in both places. They have to be either the flagship Traks or the Team Set Traks. If they ARE both, they still don't need to be listed twice unless there is an actual visible difference that isn't seen in the current scans in both locations.

Maybe I mis-'spoke'. I know this prototype doesn't match the 92 Traks base cards, but look at it in the context of the rest of the prototypes listed there:
1992 Traks Inserts & Related
Does it make sense to separate it from the rest of them?

I understood what you were saying Tom. The missing info in this thread is how that card was actually released. I'm sure that you know that Promo/Proto cards from then were usually released in small packs only to dealers to try to get them to buy upcoming products. This card really fits more with the Team Set Proto's than the flagship proto's. But the missing "Team Set" marking is really causing confusion here. Personally, I want to say both King cards (including the AU version) should be listed with the Team Sets Prototypes and as a UER. But without knowing the exact distribution method, I can't say for sure that it's where they belong. If it was Maxx or Pro Set that we were talking about, I'd know more details. But Traks was only in its 2nd year of NASCAR cards then and not as wide-spread or popular as Pro Set. I hope we can find out the real distribution method of those 1992 Traks prototypes at some point.
Remember this conversation we had about the AU card back in 2016? https://www.tcdb.com/Forum.cfm/Page/S/ID/54511/?MODE=VIEW&ThreadID=5555&C=8 Just wanted to throw that into the mix of this discussion too.

I doubt it's a UER, rather a design change between the promotional sample's production and the actual release. It's not uncommon for the promo to be different from the set.
I didn't look at the overall list until just now, weird how there's a second listing for it.
I also took the time to correct the team for Kyle Petty. He didn't drive for his father in 1992, he was driving for Felix Sabates at SABCO.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. Just to note, the "King Richard" card in the regular Tracks Team Set does not have the red "Team Set" banner in the corner either.

Yes, I noted in my first post that I thought that was odd.

There is also a Darrell Waltrip PROMO card as well. I have 6 or 7 in my collection.
