Is there an unsigned version? Even if there is, should it be listed in the base set? Was it available in packs?

From everything I know about this, and documentation I have, you're correct. I have put in the IR to get it removed (and the collection info transferred over to the AU set).

I've looked into this further and can confirm that an unsigned #1 card exists. It appears this card (#1) was printed with the wrong back (base #1R) since all signed copies of this card have a sticker on the back with the same wording as the other cards in the Autographs set. Still not sure if it was issued legitimately and should be documented or not.
