Why would something such as this be treated as a separate standalone product when radically different retail products are routinely listed as parallels of the hobby product.

Team USA were inserted in Series Two packs, so no OPC. O-Pee-Chee boxes indicate 1st Day Issue and All-Star cards, whereas Topps boxes show Master Photo Winner and 1st Day Issue cards. Also, Master Photo Series One Winner cards read "Participation is open to U.S. Residents only", so no OPC. 

As far as Master Photos Series One and Info cards are concerned, I cannot confirm if these were issued in O-Pee-Chee boxes and packs. I bought packs and boxes back in the day, and even though I'm in Canada, I don't think anyone was aware that a different OPC version existed. Most of the cards I purchased turned out to be Topps and not OPC.

rea - Thanks! I'll leave them as is for now unless someone confirms Info Cards were in the Canadian packs too.

bev - Different countries, and it depends on the set. There are separate Hobby/Retail listings for some of the 1997 Score baseball sets too because of different packaging, different numbering, different thickness/stamping/color, etc. I'm aware of the whole Panini/Playoff Absolute mess, different Ultra versions, etc. based on Hobby vs Retail, and the direction we were given was to keep them as Hobby base / Retail parallel when the designs are the same.

The strangest part is that the PTD in USA version is O-Pee-Chee, not Topps.

I will check notes later but I think the All-Stars have both versions.
