1990-91 Score American Hockey Forum

Just busted 3 boxes of this for some nostalgia and got zero Brodeurs. By comparison I got 6 Jagrs and 6 Lindroses. How does this happen? Can someone fill me in on the manufacturing process, because I noticed definite patterns in terms of which cards appeared in each box and which cards were damaged in each pack. In 2 of the boxes the bottom card of each pack had a wrecked upper corner. In the third box the top few cards of each pack had a really ugly low-ink issue on the back. I'm not upset or anything, them's the breaks, but I'd really just like some info on the patterns of how cards get distributed into packs, packs into boxes, boxes into cases. Thanks for reading!

I don't know about the districution patten.  You might have bought three boxes that were resealed after opening.  You should have received at least one Brodeur.

I mean it is junk wax era. I don't count on anything opening junk wax cards. 

I mean the packs clearly weren't searched or anything. They were not tampered with in any way and the patterns within each pack were consistent. If someone was going to go through packs and pull the Brodeurs they would have pulled the Lindroses and Jagrs, yet I was getting 2 of each every box. It was just bad luck, so it has to be something related to how the packs/boxes were compiled during manufacturing. Same dented corner on the same card each pack, same ink issues on the same cards each pack. I'm just curious how packs/boxes are determined, because it's clearly not entirely random.

I agree. I was just having some fun and got a bunch of Jagrs and Lindroses, so I can't be upset or anything. Just baffled by the lack of certain cards.

I opened two boxes a few years ago and almost had a complete set between the two. Won't get every card in a box due to the doubles, so that must've been you're unlucky one lol
