2006 Donruss Gridiron Gear Football Forum

Can anyone tell me the different between them?   

It looks like base set is on foilboard; retail on plain white cardstock.

As I am uploading images into the database this subject came up again. It looks like the base card is silver foil, not holofoil, with the fancy "swirls" on both the right and left sides of the front, as do all the inserts, gold and silver, and I presume platinum, except the silver holofoil card. It is white cardstock without the fancy "swirls", but what foil it has ( Gridiron Gear logo and horizontal lines around the player's name) is definitely holofoil. Does this mean the retail card is white cardstock without the "swirls" and plain foil?
