I'm not sure where to post this so I may add it under another board topic too... but here it is:
Has protocol changed for uploading checklists? I know there are certain "liberties" and definitely a lot of variations since the site began but I bought a mega box last night and realized there were only checklists for inserts and parallels but not the base. I also noticed set notes read awkwardly for example: for Parallel (X) "Cards will be numbered up to 99". To me that is like certain sets where various cards have different total prints where really it should have been "SN99" and maybe a note about the pull rate...so I edited those notes. Some of my edits were accepted then changed back?
Next, I started working on the checklist just like every other year's formats e.g. 2021 Topps Holiday here: https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/289960/2021-Topps-Holiday
This (just like every other Tops MLB set) has the cards in order along with the SP, SSP and SSSP versions as sub numbers. I just checked to try and add a checklist and found one must've been uploaded direct from Beckett or Collector... but without any of the identified SP cards and my "Note" about CMP stamps (codes and corresponding rarity) is not listed: https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/393019/2023-Topps-Holiday
Not whining about the "My" part but that it is an essential identifying note that is usually included.
* Update- the CMP note is under "Trivia"
However, what is to be done about the variation cards? I started adding cards to my collection and was about ten in when I realized there was an issue. Submitting an IR report for every card would be ridiculous as there are 50 SP, 25 SSP and 25 SSSP versions- all of which are listed on the same checklist sites we are discouraged from "copying" like Beckett here: https://www.beckett.com/news/2023-topps-holiday-baseball-cards/
Basically- I know this has happened on rare occasions but not usually where someone creates all of the checklists without asking questions so have things changed? Am I being too picky about site continuity? Should it be addressed?
Thanks as Always!
Cheers to Holiday before Halloween :)
