Topps statement on duplicate superfractors in ‘23 Bowman Chrome:

“We are aware that duplicate, non-autographed

SuperFractors have surfaced in 2023 Bowman Chrome

Hobby boxes. After looking into the matter, we can confirm that there is one duplicate of 95 non-autographed

SuperFractors that were included due to a production error.

Please know that we take these matters seriously.

We have identified and addressed the issue as well as implemented new procedures in an effort to prevent this from ever happening again. Rest assured that we are focused on delivering great products for collectors. We have made and will continue to make significant investments into improving our manufacturing and operational processes.

We hold ourselves accountable to the hobby and will continue to work tirelessly in order to improve the experience of collectors.

To that end, we are offering what we believe to be a generous buyback program for each of the impacted cards. The offer levels are set by card and will be available to the first person to claim and submit a verified copy of each impacted card.”

Why would anyone want to sell back a duplicate 1/1?  So Topps can destroy the evidence of the whole 1/1 marketing scam?

I mean if it is more than market and you already plan on selling.  Heck you'd save the 15-35% on fees to wherever other place you would sell it.

It's an interesting market experiment.

Does Topps offer to buy back the cards push their price up? Does that then increase what does will pay, thus pushing the market rate up again? Rinse and repeat.

I think it should be more than a monetary value that is given to the dup pullers. I think that they should get a unique card (not necessarily a 1/1, but low numbered), a few hundred dollars in wax (of the customer's choice), and money for how much the card sold for the 2nd or 3rd time.

Willy Wonka sold multiple golden tickets as a publicity stunt as well.

"we are offering what we believe to be a generous buyback".  If anyone has had a redemption card replaced with an "equivalent" card, you will realize that what Topps believes is generous is not necessarily what you believe is generous.

It is funny to see this post. As I just recently bought my second 2022 Stadium Club blue foil with identical SNs 10/50 of Tony Gwynn. Seems like Topps might be having a SN issue going on.

Wouldn't a duplicate of a 1/1 be even rarer than a 1/1?  I guess we'll have to put "SN1, PR2" in the card Note.
