I don't see the problem. It's a perfectly valid one of one of two. <shrug>

I’ve been waiting to get a redemption of a Mike Trout 2022 Major League Materials Autograph card fulfilled for 9 months now, afraid that if I accept their substitute I’ll wind up with an Yangerivs Solarte autograph and told to go kick rocks. Should I keep waiting it out, or am I kidding myself?

I think one of the 1/1 owners just needs to bang a corner on the card and, voila, a true 1/1 with banged corner. Mint is overrated. ;)

I agree about their redemption “valuation” but Topps listed what they would offer for the 1/1 duplicates (first submitted). There are some that are $30,000+ and I think the lowest was between $2,000 and $3,000

I didn’t realize there was a list out there. https://www.topps.com/pages/bowman-chrome-buyback
I agree these do seem generous, for these prospects. But given how detailed and complete this is, it almost seems like a planned promotion to get people chasing the product (especially with the March 31 deadline).

I'm not happy about this part:
- Attach a form of government ID.

You're not suggesting a "marketing scam", are you?

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

It's the precursor to the next step in the evolution of card collecting: the Quantum parallel.
Two unique 1/1 copies which coexist in an entangled state. These cards cannot be graded, as the condition of one is not fully realized without information on the other - yet a grader cannot observe both cards in the same place at the same moment in time.

That was my first thought too. And others, based on the thread! Now people can (should say will) spend more hunting the 1/1/2 because there is a “guaranteed” price (if they hit it first). *removes tin foil hat* (but I do agree, it’s all just odd)
