I'm curious why these are listed as 'Fleer'. The copyright info on the back has '1990 Asher Candy Co' and there's no mention of Fleer anywhere on the card. It took longer to find this set than it should have.

I guess I kind of figured it out from the Packaging link. It mentions on the box it's a subsidiary of Fleer, but still don't have any idea how anyone could determine that from looking at a single card.

Asher Candy is subsidiary of Fleer Corp. It's listed on the packaging. I think 1990 "Asher Candy Stars and Stripes" would be a better title. The set comes up as both "Fleer" and "Asher Candy" in a google search. Beckett lists it as a "Fleer" product. But do we care all that much about what Beckett says?

Probably because Asher made (manufactured) the candy canes that came with the cards. Fleer probably printed the cards themselves.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Edit: I changed my opinion on the 1990 version, I could lean towards calling it Asher. I offer these 1991 order forms for s & g.

"distributed directly by Fleer"
I've always known them as Fleer, but can't remember why. PSA identifies them as Fleer.

Yeah but the 1990 version has an Asher copyright, the 1991 version has the Fleer copyright. I'll still know them as Fleer, but I get the case to change it to what's present on the card.

Set name has been updated. PSA relies heavily on Beckett's checklists for card naming, I'm battling their research department on an obvious error and keep getting 'but Beckett shows ...' I'm hoping the links I provided them to sets/scans here will convince them to correct it.
