If I hadn't been building Panini Cantanti checklists lately, I would have only known about 19% of this set, 52 cards out of 270. So many obscure German acts. The overwhelming majority of the acts are musicians, so I felt it appropriate to put the set in the Music category, but if anyone has an argument to the contrary, I'm all ears.
Some notes about this set:
- This set is from 1970, NOT 1969, which is another PSA blunder, but more consequential than their typical music card mistakes, because people have sold and bought the Pink Floyd card from this set under the mistaken impression that it's Pink Floyd's rookie from the actual 1969 Bergmann set. Pay close attention to the photo if you happen to come across a "Pink Floyd rookie", and compare/contrast it to this set.
- That's not Bob Dylan pictured on the Bob Dylan card, right? Anyone have a clue who it might actually be?
- The most important thing about this set is that it's David Bowie's rookie. But be careful if you're looking to acquire one, I just noticed a scam shopping website supposedly offering a near mint one for $11, lmao. I laugh, but for about 10 feverish seconds I was about to get scammed myself. "Too good to be true" is usually true.
