2022 Topps Chrome Baseball Forum

I was on eBay recently and saw someone selling topps chrome 2022 1987 refractors. So I bought 2 of them. CARD 87bc-10 Pete Alonso of the Mets and card 87bc-12 Luis Robert of the white Sox. These cards do change colors but are not number. Does anyone know anything about these cards. There is no listing for just a refractor. Are these cards just regular cards or are they refractors just without numbers.

In some of the other years that I have they can look refractorish without being actual refractors. Looking at some of the scans for this year's and they look the same, refractorish without being labeled a refractor.

Those appear to be standard Chrome, not Refractors.

The colored and serial-numbered variations use the same code though, which seems to be consistent with Topps since they started including them. But as mentioned before, the base is the only unnumbered version.

Whats the key to distinguishing a refractor?

If there is both a base version and refractor version, the refractor version will display a rainbow when light hits it.  Fortunately on newer sets they often have Refractor on the back now.

Since the 1987 throwbacks don't have a Base and Refractor parallel you won't see it, but the base cards appear to be Refractors themselves.
