2022 Topps Opening Day Baseball Forum

Sorting my break cards tonight for shipping and noticed that cards #150, 187 and insert M-3 all have black Topps unlike the rest that are white. Error or unannounced variations?! Any info??

Just a guess on my part, but it probably has to do with the background. On 150 there is a white shirt in the crowd right behind the logo.  On 187 the logo is on the relatively light colored roof of the dugout.  On M-3 there is a white and gray building where the logo is placed.  I suspect they used black on these cards because they felt the white didn't show up well on the background.

I agree with Glenn.  A good example of why they should change the color of the numbers is the 1999 Upper Deck Century Legends card #35.  Some websites, like Baseballcardpedia, list it as a NNO UER, even though the black numbers on a black background can be very faintly seen, as mentioned in this forum on our website: http://baseballcardpedia.com/index.php/1999_Upper_Deck_Century_Legends
