This is a long thread and my A.D.D. wouldn't allow me to red each post so hopefully this isn't repeated information. I know that I have been overly cautious in adding or trying new things on here despite having permissions to do so- but I believe in doing it correctly to avoid issues..although as someone told me today, mistakes are made by everyone at some point.
That said, these releases that are kind of standard each year have become mixed up in the way the checklists have done- in other words we aren't all looking to past examples or checking with more experienced members to ensure cohesion. Without looking (referencing both current Topps MLB series 1&2 releases) I immediately think of the Stars of the MLB insert where someone continued the checklist without delineating where Series 1 ended & 2 began. I know they are consecutively numbered but in years past with similar inserts these were kept separate plus, unless fixed, the Stars of MLB Chrome insets were divided in 2 checklists which adds to the discontinuity and confusion.
Please note there is no intended positive nor negative meaning w/ this post- just something to remind us all to step out of our comfort zones and try new things to be helpful while also respecting past methods and using them as reference points. Remember after the checklist is made there will be more new members who are learning the process of finding cards.
It is no different than reminding everyone who doesn't regularly write checklists that the Panini website it NOTORIOUS for releasing incorrect / incomplete lists; especially with regards to card "numbering". Don't get me started on the "new Wild Card" brand...
So Cheers to everyone working together and all of us learning and asking for help. I wish I had a better aphorism than "Measure twice, cut once" but it is all that comes to mind at this hour meaning double check before submitting because it takes more time and arduous work to fix an incorrect list than to have ensured it's original correctness.
Plus, the experienced members handling most of the work want to help anyone trying to get it done correctly. I am especially thankful for the kind, patient assistance given to me by all of them / you if you're reading this- including but not limited to Admin, Dan, Ed, Dennis, Brian, Jason, Merlin, Jeff and those are just the person's I thanked today for recent help!
Happy Wednesday!
