Just wondering how many WNBA collectors we have here. Are you a team collector? College alumni collector? Player collector? Set collector?
I'm a Syracuse alumni collector, but this release only has one Syracuse alum.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Funny this pops up right after I finish updating my 2020 Prizm collection. I consider myself to be a WNBA collector but I've really only started in the past couple of years. I primarily collect my favorite team (the Connecticut Sun), and college alumni from a few different schools. With some of the recent releases from Panini, I've also started collecting All WNBA players and award winners.

WNBA wise I primarily collect Sun Devil alumns. I was excited to see Briann January as the second card in the set. Since the set released, I've purchased the base card and five parallels. Was hoping Panini would include Kym Hampton in the signatures set, after seeing some of the players in the checklist.
If I had to collect a player from the hometown Mercury, it would have to be Skylar Diggins-Smith. Did anyone see that game-tying half court shot to send the game into OT?

I was a season ticket holder for the able, and started collecting the players that played in Columbus. Then I started collecting Katie Smith and Ohio State players and it just went from there.

I collect all things Baylor Bears, and we've put quite a few in the WNBA over the years...Brittney Griner, Sophia Young, Odyssey Sims, Sheila Lambert, and bunch of others. I pick up their cards when I have a chance, but honestly I don't see many around, although I picked up a sweet 2020 Prizm Lauren Cox the other day on COMC. It's one of the few WNBA cards I have that show the player in Baylor uniform, which is a plus for my collection.

The Prizm release I feel further legitimizes the WNBA in the hobbysphere and honestly got me excited for a few cards. I picked up a Mystics team set, a Delle Donne auto and a couple other inserts to fill that void in my D.C. sports PC. I also got an Ionescu RC to pack away for later. I'd spring for an Ionescu auto since I spent some time living in Eugene when she played there, but the market just pushes those cards so high right now.

I've been collecting WNBA cards since 2000, when my namesake the Seattle Storm entered the league. At one point, I think I owned 1% of the "world's supply" of 2006 cards, but I've bought & sold off my accumulated WNBA cards several times in the past.
I am planning to post some ebay auctions for 2020 WNBA Prizm cards tomorrow, FYI. I'd be happy to trade any other sport for Storm cards I need - at this point, it's mostly parallels & autographs.

I would if I could find any. Never saw the Donruss set from last year at retail, and forget Prizm from this year. The Rittenhouse sets were out of my reach as well, since hobby boxes are generally out of my price range.
I do favor the Liberty for a couple reasons: They are the home team, they wear a unique color jersey, they were a part of the Knicks family and now part of the Nets family, and they don't have a derivitive knockoff name of their city's NBA team. (The latter is a big part of why I didn't really support the league at the beginning- it made it seem more like a joke to me, lacking any credibility. I eventually came around, but I still root against the team with derivitive names)

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.
