Loving this set but does anyone else have issues with the 2002 inspired portion of this set where the name plate is horribly misaligned with the bannter? For example I'm looking at a Manny Machado card right now where his name totally missed the yellow banner. Or is this some kind of callback to the 2002 set that I'm missing?

Mine looks perfect.  

Most of mine are perfect as well. But then there are a bunch that are wildly mis-aligned. Chalking it up to poor QC but I'm curious as to how widespread it is.

Yes, some of the names on the 2002 cards look out of place. They do not appear as uniform in comparison to original 2002 cards.

I wouldn't get caught up in uniformity to the original releases. It's long established in the Archives and Heritage brands that Topps will honor the original designs, but will make slight adjustments. Very rarely will the updated designs perfectly match the original. Now, if there is an actually printing issue (name not in the banner itself for example), well, that's something entirely different....

This is the first time when I haven't been impressed with the Archives "re-creations." The font on the 1974s isn't right either - it's too skinny - and about half of my 2002s have what looks like that off-center foil. It's more noticeable on guys with shorter names, I think - they're too far to the left, in order to avoid the curve of the banner.

Oh yeah, like that one year they had 1983 Topps design and had yellow text/border on white background with no outline.
