2020 Topps Baseball Forum

I was going through the # of players per team for 2020 Topps Base Series 1 and noticed that there is only 1 Texas Ranger (Nick Solak). The average # of players per team is 11 cards. The 2nd lowest is the Orioles with 7 cards.  Seems a bit odd.

Look at Night Owl's recent blogs. he's been complaining about that too. The one person isn't even an established player..

That does seem odd for sure that it is only 1 card for an entire team.  Doesn't seem like the best representation of the league as a whole for a release.  

My Brewers have a good number of base cards but 1/3 of them are no longer Brewers which is almost as annoying.  Players like Jeffress was released from the Brewers before last season ended so not sure why he would have a Brewers card for this season.  So not sure how these sets are decided on or produced overall....

As a Louisville baseball fan, I won't complain about Solak being included, but yeah, I feel bad for anyone who pre-purchased a Rangers Team Set on ebay weeks ago.

That's Panini levels of cluelessness. 

I saw a tweet from Topps that says "we're debuting Rangers base cards with an inaugural stadium logo for their first season in the new stadium in Topps Series 2".  I guess that explains it.

What scrubeenie said. I was watching the Topps Million Dollar Rip Party stream on Tuesday and one of the Topps spokespersons said Series 2 will feature Rangers base cards with the logo of the Rangers' new stadium. I tried to Google that new logo but had no luck--even on the Rangers website.
