2017-18 Leaf Invictus Hockey Forum

Can anyone confirm this Invictus issue is a quality product?  Specifically, if a card is serially numbered 1/1, will it really be the only one?  I know hockey gets some shady products put out there.  If a 1/1 is really the 8th copy, but the other 7 have a different color foil for the number. That's what I'm trying to avoid.

If the Invictus is anything like the In The Game stuff, highly doubtful. I can not confirm but am going with my hockey gut on this one. Leaf is definitely kinda shady IMO.

I see only Darrell replied, so I'll chime in too. I would rather buy cards that my neighbor was printing in his garage than buy products from this new "Leaf". Actually, they're about the same.

Thanks guys. I kept my bid real low, and was quickly outbid.  Then I bid on some familiar brands instead.  There are too many cool cards out there, at reasonable prices, to get stuck with junk.

Is ITG really that bad? I have a number of cards from them and like the Between the Pipes sets, just never realized how bad other people thought of them.

I'm kinda looking forward to the day 'Leafy' replaces 'shady' in our lexicon (though I do really enjoy some of their releases from early this past decade and prior).

Leaf, up to about 2015, was okay.

Looking back, apparently I didnt bid on that card after all.  I was outbid on something else. Good for me. They do make some nice looking cards though.  Some. Not all.  I dont go for their autograph gimmick though.  Where you mail in an autograph, and they turn it into a 1/1 card.  Somebody selling his Jordan/Gretzky on ebay for $100K right now.
