2004 Topps Cracker Jack Baseball Forum

Reading an old Beckett Baseball Mag (Ocr, 2004, pg 8), a collector got 2 of the same Carlos Delgado SN 1/1 cards in the same pack. Topps replied that "they make an extra sheet of 1/1s in case in they get damaged. Once they are "packed" out, they destroy the sheet. It appears one of the "extras" accidently made it into a pack, making Delgado essentially a 2/2" with 2 - 1/1 cards. With this information, should another 1/1 card be listed for him? 1 is listed now.

No. Nothing more than a production glitch.

And if it's true what Topps stated, for one card to get out the whole sheet of extras had to get cut-up.  So there might be other duplicate 1/1s.

Our own Tom (Lea DeFoot) has two copies of a Ted Musgrave 1/1. It's not unheard of but extremely rare.

If I remember the story right, at one of those Topps Transcendent VIP parties, everyone in attendance got a copy of the same Cal Ripken 1/1 card.  Topps didn't apparently realize it until the guests opened their gift bags.
