Maybe it should be 2 sets then and this one have 125 added to the title.

Considering that they were sold as sets by mail order only, I'd say two sets.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Answer to that question is no. Basic set is based off the number given (32 cards in set), then the percentage is calculated off of the unique numbers you have in your collection (so in this case, you could have both versions of 1-16 and it would say you have 100% of the base set). Master set would be based off the total cards listed in the checklist (if we had both versions, this set would be 64). You would then have to have all cards in your collctionto have 100% of the master set, regardless of the card numbers. This is why getting those a's and b's out of the card numbers where they truly aren't is so important for the database. (But I digress.)
It's looking like our best bet will be to create a second set for the cards without the "125-" prefix. I'm guessing a completely separate set because there's no indication as to which one would be the parallel of the other.
Doea anyone object? And if so, please explain why. Thanks!

I found an original "First Time Offered" ad for the set. The image in the ad has no prefix on the card number. The prefix must have been subsequent printing(s). So? The 125- prefix a parallel? And it looks like Baseball Digest sold them directly, not Perma-Graphic.

OK, so here's the final answer on this one. Admin responded with:
Two separate sets due to the card numbers being different as you alluded to.
Set that was already here was renamed to "1981 Perma-Graphic Superstar Credit Cards (125- prefix)".
New set added using the old name of "1981 Perma-Graphic Superstar Credit Cards". And can be found here:
https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/224099/1981-Perma-Graphic-Superstar-Credit-Cards
Thanks to EVERYONE who participated in this thread and to rickeywinsagain for noticing the difference. Some great teamwork on this one.

Glad that you got this one wrapped up, Dan. I completely forgot that I had some of those. My 3 STL cards are all the 125 version, so at least they were already listed right. I just added those "new" STL cards to my wantlist (along with Brett and Henderson).

Was Admin made aware of the original ad?

Yes, Admin was directed to this thread without a lot of other info (basically I asked him to read the thread and give me feedback).
